Our Story

Coaches Ryan and Matt have known each other for over 15 years, beginning when Ryan was a camper in Matt Paul Basketball in 2004.

Fast forward, the student is now teaching the teacher how he and Swarthmore College built a championship program.

Together we are teaching the kids to have “The Next Play Mentality” that will make them successful on and off the court. We are focused on creating a positive environment where players develop their game, confidence and leadership skills.

How it Started

    We are a basketball club that teaches kids how to play the right way, the Next Play Basketball Way.

    We want every player to share the ball, make the extra pass, thank their teammate, and focus on what they can do to help their team win.

    We want players to develop their skills and understanding of the game. Learning how to play is more important that learning plays.

    Founded in 2021, Next Play Basketball has over 1000 members who travel from Bucks to Delaware County to train, compete, and play on one of our 30+ AAU teams, in clinics and camps, or in our Summer League.

    We support local coaches by providing coaches clinics.

  • Next Play Teams practice out of Springside Chesnut Hill Academy, Germantown Academy in Fort Washington, PA & La Salle College HS.

    Next Play is competitive and fun, providing players of all levels with outstanding coaching and training.

    Our Players improve and are inspired to practice on their own.

  • Next Play Basketball serves boys and girls from 2nd to 12th grade. Our base teams compete locally in the fall and the spring, and our high school circuit teams travel throughout the northeast.

  • Our mission is to teach, coach and inspire young athletes to be great teammates and leaders on and off the court.

    • We believe in every player and strive to help each one achieve their individual goals through team play.

    • We want to develop leadership and resiliency in our players.

    • We will play and act like a team, where individual success will be sacrificed for the benefit of the team.

    • We believe in creating a fun and positive environment.

    • We stress players coaching one another and holding each player accountable for team concepts.
